But it's hard to convince someone to do that for an entertainment purpose. Good news is that you can train yourself (most of the times) if you keep at it. For people who get sick viewing dynamic camera angles (especially in 1st person POV), it takes some time for them to get used to it. But there are good amount of people that can't play FPS even on a flat screen. This probably doesn't apply much to most of people here. To keep it simple, I would divide up the sickness issue between sickness that comes with FPS genre in general and actual simulation sickness issues escalated by VR. we also chose to do it because no one was taking on the challenge at the time (but you know FPS gamers want to play the game in VR). We at Roqovan also chose to do a genre of game that has been deemed "taboo" for VR gaming (FPS). So many different issues that goes with it.
